Water Rights Administrator - Division of Water Resources (State Engineer's Office) Open to current residents of Colorado. Pay: $76,104.00 - $112,404.00 annually.

Overview Support water rights administration by developing methodologies to collect and analyze water diversion and delivery data to verify augmentation plan operators are operating in compliance with all applicable court decrees, statutes, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform calculations to determine the amount, timing and location of stream depletions for all types of augmentation plans.

Prepare monthly accounting of plan operations demonstrating replacement of stream depletions.

Coordinate with staff members, consulting engineers and associations to ensure correct records.

Determine formulas and logic statements needed to construct and maintain spreadsheets and databases for compliance evaluation.

Analyze and evaluate whether water diversion and delivery accounting submitted matches measured data.

Calculate and record diversion data for assigned plans, including physical inspections.

Monitor submitted water accounting, audit by physical inspection or with Division staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience with scientific field investigations, municipal water operations, Colorado water administration, interpreting water court decrees, or related experience.

Education and Experience: related education or relevant experience equivalent to six (6) years.

Preferred: Current or former State experience relevant to this position.

Knowledge and experience with Colorado water rights, augmentation plans, and water administration.

Proficiency with Google and Microsoft suites including Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.

Experience with assisting customers and/or public outreach.

Other relevant experience managing water resources.
