This is not a one-size-fits-all environment. Associates are expected to take ownership of sophisticated matters, while having access to guidance and support from attorneys who are deeply experienced in employment litigation.

The practice You will work on a range of employment defense matters, with a focus on wage and hour, PAGA, and class and representative actions. While the mix varies by matter, the work typically includes:

Defending employers in individual, class, and PAGA actions

Drafting and arguing dispositive and class-related motions

Managing written discovery and e-discovery in complex cases

Taking and defending depositions, including plaintiffs and corporate witnesses

Participating in mediations, settlement strategy, and trial preparation

Advising clients on litigation risk and strategy

The work is demanding, substantive, and requires sound judgment and strong written advocacy.

The environment This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles, structured to support both flexibility and collaboration. In-office expectations vary by team, but mentorship, accessibility, and professional development are consistent priorities.

Associates are evaluated on the quality of their work, strategic thinking, and ability to manage complex matters effectively. The culture is professional, engaged, and focused on developing strong employment litigators.

Compensation, bonuses, and growth

Base compensation range of $170,000 to $230,000, depending on experience and overall fit

Performance-based bonuses are an established and meaningful component of total compensation

Bonus decisions are tied to contribution, judgment, and consistency
