Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service, on‑time delivery, and maximize profitability for a high‑revenue dedicated account (≈30+ trucks and/or 30+ drivers).
Manage driver and office employee matters, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Ensure fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
Develop trust and integrity with the customer.
Account for all shipments via weekly service reports.
Engage U.S. Xpress departments (e.g., billing) to maintain smooth operations.
Review credit collection and aging reports to improve cash flow.
Ensure equipment and drivers meet on‑time service and customer demand.
Analyze volume figures to forecast business surges.
Manage document control for the account.
Seek leadership guidance on matters affecting U.S. Xpress financially.
Participate in rotational off‑site on‑call duty, nights, and weekends.
Assist the Regional Operations Manager and support account‑wide projects.
Provide support when other Account Managers are absent.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (one year of professional experience per year of college). Minimum 5 years logistics experience and 3 years leadership experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in logistics; 3 years of leadership; coaching for performance preferred; understanding of distribution processes.
Skills/Certifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel; analytical thinking; knowledge of DOT hours‑of‑service regulations; initiative and assertiveness.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements Normal office settings.
