Lead Anesthesia Technician, Cer.A.T/Cer.A.T.T. – VUMC – $10k Signing Bonus/Relocation Available Your Role

Coordinates work assignments for Anesthesia Techs independently. Serves as a mentor to Anesthesia technical staff and participates in the orientation of newly hired Anesthesia Technical staff. Assists with quality control and maintenance of equipment. Assists the Anesthesia Technician Manager/Educator with personnel issues. Performs all functions of Certified Anesthesia Technologist. The Vanderbilt Department of Anesthesiology embraces the anesthesia care team approach to patient care, involving anesthesiologists and residents, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) and anesthesia technicians. Certified Techs can be considered for lead, supervisor, and eventually management roles. Our rapid growth allows for more advancement opportunities than other facilities. Key Responsibilities

Organizes and coordinates the use of anesthesia personnel of assigned area. Insures that technical staff are responding in a timely fashion to all requests by the anesthesia care provider. May have primary responsibility for scheduling anesthesia staff in regards to daily schedule, time off, in-services, and any other educational activity. Assists educator in the evaluation of proficiency of technical staff by providing constructive feedback. The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. Technical Capabilities

Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient. Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Operations Management (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of operations management in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job. Training & Development (Intermediate): Has delivered a program in its entirety. Managed the delivery of a program by a team of instructors, assuring attention to detail. Demonstrated the ability to deal with adversity and disruption during delivery. Established class leadership and credibility. Demonstrated the ability to give clear, concise instructions in support of participant activities. Anesthesiology/Anesthesia Technical Support (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrates capabilities as Anesthesia Technical Support. anesthesiology in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments. Position Qualifications
