The Vanderbilt Department of Anesthesiology utilizes an anesthesia care team approach, including anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, SRNAs, and anesthesia technicians. Care is provided for all surgical specialties, including cardiac, pediatrics, vascular, trauma, neurosurgery, plastics, radiologic, and special procedures. Sign‑On Bonus Eligibility
Bonus not applicable to current staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past 12 months. Relocation Terms
Must relocate from > 100 miles. Bonus not applicable to current or former staff within the past 12 months. Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate working knowledge of point‑of‑care instrumentation and documentation. Recognize a difficult airway and anticipate required supplies and equipment. Prepare and operate Rapid Infusion System for delivering blood products during surgical and trauma procedures. Demonstrate working knowledge of cell‑salvage equipment. Apply pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology knowledge to anesthesia care. Participate in multidisciplinary support services, including liver transplant, pain management, and autotransfusion services. Perform additional duties as assigned. Technical Capabilities
Anesthesia Technical Support – proficiency at the novice level with moderate difficulty tasks. Procedures Knowledge – novice proficiency with moderate difficulty tasks. Equipment Maintenance – novice proficiency maintaining equipment and inventory. Medical Terminology & Documentation – novice proficiency in terminology and documentation. Position Qualifications – Required
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience). Minimum 2 years of applicable experience. Active certification as a Certified Anesthesia Technician. Core Accountabilities
