We are seeking a 2nd shift Environmental Services Supervisor at Baptist Memorial Hospital‑Collierville in Collierville, TN.
The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to assist in supervising an assigned hospital Environmental Services Department under the guidance of the Environmental Services Department Director. The role involves establishing and enforcing work standards, monitoring inventory and equipment usage, problem solving, training staff, handling customer relations, and managing special projects. This position will receive hands‑on training to prepare for full operational duties of the department.
Responsibilities
Participate in all Environmental Services Department in‑services.
Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties.
Conduct quality assurance checks and manage materials inventory and general equipment use.
Ensure staff receives proper initial training in assigned areas and tasks.
Provide individual guidance and motivation to staff so each performs to his/her fullest potential.
Maintain an environment that is sanitary, attractive, and orderly.
Demonstrate and promote XRO culture, values, and management philosophy.
Job Qualifications
1+ years of experience in the janitorial/housekeeping industry.
Medical cleaning experience a plus.
Post‑Offer Medical, Background Screening, and Drug Test required.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Strong service/quality attitude.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Ability to work under pressure and meet goals and objectives.
Sense of urgency and self‑direction to meet deadlines.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made. The employee regularly stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms. The employee frequently climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; talks or hears. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods and lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs. The employee regularly assists staff members and utilizes approved lifting devices to lift and/or move patients.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses are required.
Possible exposure to chemicals may require special clothing or safety equipment.
Computer Skills Proficient in Windows‑based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
