Summary The Kitting Team Lead is required to know all facets of kitting, shipping and order picking. Additionally the Kitting team lead will be expected to lead employees if supervisor is absent or occupied. This position will require the daily operation of a sit down forklift as well as an order-picker (which will require working at an elevation of 20 feet). Daily tasks include prioritizing hot parts as well as being the point of contact for shipping, receiving and inbounding. Additionally this position will assist in training new employees. The Team Lead will maintain a safe and clean work area by ensuring they clean their area as needed.

Primary Duties

Prioritize hot parts for operations

Monitor communication and ensure priority is given to Packager and Order Fillers.

Responsible for monitoring daily reports to resolve outstanding issues and locate material within 24-48 hours.

Daily/timely communication with the customer via email.

Operate a sit down forklift and Order Picker.

Act as a point of contact for the Packagers and Order Fillers to resolve system issues.

Assist with data entry and shipping.

Assist with training new employees on proper receiving and locating procedures.

Possess knowledge of customer systems.

Independently manage full shift operations in the absence of a Supervisor.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality and cost.

Understand and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives.

Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Qualifications

Demonstrate an ability to comprehend both written and verbal instructions along with hand signals.

Demonstrate an ability to read and adhere to customer specifications.

Demonstrate an ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Email).

Demonstrate an ability to follow work instructions and visual aids.

Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with customers, peers and subordinates.

Demonstrate strong problem solving skills.

Demonstrate an ability to utilize a sit down forklift and order picker.

Demonstrate accuracy when reviewing finished material.

Demonstrate the ability to work safely in a warehouse setting.

Demonstrate an ability to use overhead crane and hoist.

Previous experience operating a sit down forklift.

Previous experience in a team environment.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Minimum of one year of experience (preferred)

Vision requirements include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distant vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to focus (ability to adjust eyes to bring an object into sharp focus).

Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.

Pay Range: $17 - $19/hour
