Salary: $7,172.00 – $8,910.00 per Month. New to State candidates hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, when applicable.

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday. Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time. Telework: Hybrid.

Job Description and Duties Responsible for the accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions of the Accounting Services Branch. Duties are detailed in the attached duty statement.

Eligibility and Requirements

Minimum Requirements as specified in the Class Specification (link available in the Minimum Requirements section).

Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated breadth of knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and governmental accounting principles (including internal control), business law, control agencies, and State Administrative Manual regulations related to accounting and budgeting.

Experience preparing reconciliations, reviewing or auditing financial information, and analyzing financial documents to determine compliance with fiscal policies and procedures.

Knowledge of leadership and personnel management principles, time‑management, and conflict‑resolution techniques.

Ability to independently prioritize, plan, organize, and direct work; facilitate meetings and discussions to meet project objectives and deadlines.

Comprehensive experience communicating within a multi‑level government organization, including researching, writing, and interpreting technical and non‑technical documents (e.g., statistical reports, procedures, policy memos).

Extensive experience with computer applications, especially Microsoft software, and knowledge of enterprise software.

Demonstrated professionalism, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with staff, stakeholders, and the public.

Special Requirements:

Completion of educational courses as specified in the Class Specification.

Background Investigation cleared prior to hiring.

Working Conditions Requires a combination of telework and in‑office work per the Statewide Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
