Job Description We are seeking a dedicated bilingual associate instructor to support our second language program at Medora Elementary School. The successful candidate will provide language instruction and support for students assigned to English as a second language classes.

Salary Schedule 1A Grade 6/7/8 (details attached)

Working Calendar 187 days per year, 7 hours per day

Hourly Pay Range (details attached)

Scope of Responsibilities Assist teachers in fulfilling the goals of the second language program by providing appropriate language instruction to students assigned to ESL classes. Implement education programs by providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and instruction.

Minimum Qualifications Instructor I – Bilingual Associate High School Diploma or G.E.D. Passing Score on the Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 college hours. Demonstrated proficiency in two languages (English and the appropriate language). Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multicultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds. Program-specific certifications or training. Effective communication skills.

Instructor II – Bilingual Associate Associate Degree or equivalent training (64 college semester hours) and experience. One year of successful experience with children. Demonstrated proficiency in two languages (English and the appropriate language). Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multicultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds. Knowledge of or receptive to philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system. Effective communication skills.

Instructor III – Bilingual Associate Bachelor’s degree. Three years of successful teaching experience. Demonstrated proficiency in two languages (English and the appropriate language). Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multicultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds. Knowledge of or receptive to philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system. Effective communication skills. (Additional instruction regarding paraeducator assessment and credential evaluation for out-of-U.S. transcripts.)
