Elementary Special Education Teacher – Phoenix, AZ Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour

Contract Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year

About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality educational services to students with special needs. This position focuses on supporting elementary-level learners in a resource setting, ensuring individualized instruction and collaboration with general education staff.

You will join a supportive team environment committed to student success through specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.

Responsibilities

Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs.

Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to support inclusion.

Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to program planning.

Caseload & Support

Caseload: Approximately 12 students or fewer.

Classroom Support: Typically 2 paraprofessionals per 12 students.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

Valid Arizona teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.

At least one year of teaching experience (preferred).

Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.

Current CPR certification and health clearances as applicable.

Preferred Certifications

Standard Elementary Teaching Certificate.

Standard Special Education Teaching Certificate.

Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
