Special Education Teacher (Middle School Resource)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Start Date: ASAP – May 21, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Duration: 6 months
Position Overview The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs in grades K–12. This role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff to plan and implement individualized programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver resource-level instruction in Math for middle school students.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide group and one‑on‑one support in collaboration with paraprofessionals.
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations.
Participate in team planning and student progress monitoring.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
Valid state teaching certificate (Special Education endorsement required; Alt Cert approved).
Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred).
Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
Current CPR certification (if applicable).
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X‑ray (if applicable).
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Caseload & Support
Caseload: 25 students or fewer.
Classroom support: Typically 2 paraprofessionals per 12 students.
