Responsibilities
Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.
Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure applicable requirements are flowed into detailed design of assigned products.
Collaborate with peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.
Contribute to program achievements by releasing accurate, error‑free, affordable, and producible engineering designs.
Travel up to 10% of time is required.
Basic Qualifications
Mechanical design experience that includes interpretation of engineering design drawings.
Experience with engineering CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.) and model‑based product definition.
Knowledge of industrial standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS (including AWS weld symbology).
Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
Knowledge/understanding of electro‑mechanical systems and mechanical packaging of electronic equipment.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills
Experience in electro‑mechanical systems and mechanical packaging of electronic equipment.
Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical systems.
Experience with application of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
Experience with Engineering Data Product release process within the Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system.
Knowledge of LM Space command media.
Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Active DoD Secret security clearance.
Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Schedule for this Position 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Experience Level 4 yr and up College

Work Schedules Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed.
