Responsibilities
Conduct state licensing inspections of child care organizations, including family and group child care homes and child care centers.
Investigate complaints.
Provide technical assistance and consultation to applicants and licensees.
Initiate enforcement action.
Testify in hearings.
Consult with other professionals such as law enforcement, fire safety inspectors, and protective services representatives.

Qualifications This position generally requires possession of a master’s degree in child development, elementary education, early childhood education, guidance and counseling, or social work, and two years of professional, post‑bachelor’s degree experience in licensing child day‑care homes or centers, child foster care homes or facilities, child care placing agencies, or related child care facilities. Specific information on the education and experience required for the position is in the job specifications for the Child Day Care Consultant class.

A transcript stamped with “Student Copy.”
A transcript labeled as “Unofficial.”
