Responsibilities

Perform echocardiograms and verify completeness of patient examinations prior to submission to Cardiologist.

Maintain diagnostic equipment in good working order and notify Supervisor or Director of any equipment in need of repairs.

Record inventory and order supplies as needed.

Distribute and file all reports.

Demonstrate ability to perform quantitative measurements of data obtained from the on mode tracings.

Take verbal orders for diagnostic testing from physicians and record orders in chart.

Utilize order entry system to access and complete exams.

Compile echo cardiology reports for physicians. Properly label and organize paperwork and/or tapes, CDs for physician review.

Summary Responsible for performing echocardiographic studies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Completion from an AMA‑accredited training program in 2‑D, color flow and M‑Mode echocardiography and CPR certification.

Registration as an echosonographer required.

Registered Echo sonographer and current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification required.

Hours Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
