Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night):

6am - 2 pm, 11:30am - 7:30 pm

Bending/Lifting 50lbs: May require squatting, climbing, bending, standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job Responsibilities

Performs routine tasks in the kitchen, dining room, or other dietary areas.

Assists in preparing foods for cooking and in cooking operations.

Prepares fresh vegetables, reconstitutes milk, grinds meat, cleans fruits, poultry, and other foods for cooking.

Prepares coffee, salads, and sandwiches.

Operates griddle to prepare fried eggs, French toast, or pancakes.

Document, date, label and store food supplies in pantry, walk‑ins, and freezers.

Measure food items, follow charts, schedules, and recipes.

Lift and carries food items from cart to freezer and back from freezer to shelving in the cooler.

Performs routine food distribution and cleanup duties.

Prepare food line and maintain food supply during serving.

Prepare dishes that must be loaded and unloaded to and from the dishwasher.

Washes dishes, trays, pots, pans, utensils, glasses, and other dining ware.

Washes and sanitizes pots and pans used in food preparation and service.

Drains and tidies up steam table pans from cabinets; delimes dish and utensil machines and checks dishwashing machines for proper temperature during operation.

Cleans and sanitizes food delivery carts and organizes carts for next meal.

Pushes food cart from central dietary area to the living units or recipient dining areas.

Prepare and serve food items onto plates or trays.

Maintain portion and temperature control and complies with prescription formulas, nutritional, or modified diet prescriptions.

Cuts cakes, pies, and butter.

Fills condiment containers.

Makes, dispenses, and serves beverages.

Takes inventory and documents daily records of nourishments, leftovers, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures.

Reviews groceries and food receipts according to requisition lists and menus.

Calculates items received.

Stores and rotates food properly.

Marks menus for food carts and cooks sheets.

Clean and maintains sanitary standards of kitchen, washing, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing, or waxing floors, walls, windows, woodwork, furniture, appliances, fixtures, and equipment.

Operates and maintains cleaning equipment within the kitchen area.

Cleans soiled laundry in facility washer and dryer, folds, and places clean laundry in proper storage cabinets.

Reports equipment malfunction or failure and safety and health hazards to the supervisor.

Assists in preparing Ala Cart menu items, room trays (early or late), sack lunches for outings or medical appointments as needed.

Rotates for familiarity and knowledge to be proficient in all areas of the Dietary Department.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school supplemented by six (6) months experience in dietary related support service.
