Job Description Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager at Simsbury, CT, the Buyer will manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships, execute procurement activities, develop sourcing plans, coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders, maintain accurate records, ensure regulatory compliance, lead continuous improvement, and support supplier development.
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships: quality, delivery, price negotiations, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
Execute procurement activities for materials and services for assigned categories supporting EBA&D Electronics Value Stream.
Develop and implement sourcing plans, price justification packages, and cost analysis.
Coordinate activities with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
Maintain accurate supplier and material records in company ERP system.
Ensure regulatory and company requirements for procurement, storage, and transportation are adhered to (DFAR/FAR/CPSR).
Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities to tailor sourcing processes.
Provide input in the Supplier Development process, evaluating suppliers’ performance and facilitating improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Background in Lean Manufacturing concepts desirable.
Excellent PC skills in MS environment.
CPSM and/or CPCM certification a plus.
Ability to work independently, be curious, and self‑motivated.
Ability to work in a fast‑pace environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Strong desire to drive process improvements and learn.
