What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Oversee facility design and construction services for County departments, providing recommendations on facility projects
Develop project master plans and implement them through reviews, cost estimates, and construction
Ensure compliance of vendors and contractors with plans and specifications of construction contracts
Establish project priorities and set schedules for timely completion of construction projects
Represent the County in community meetings and maintain current knowledge of professional practices
What is Required (Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
Minimum of three (3) years of directly related professional architectural or engineering planning, design, or construction experienceOne (1) year of lead, management, or project management experience
Licensed as a Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas
Valid Texas Driver's License and ability to pass a criminal background check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in building design and construction/remodeling project management, including scheduling, estimating, contracting, and budgeting
Familiarity with computer-aided drafting and design (CAD) methods and techniques
Knowledge of federal, state, local, and county applicable laws and regulations in architecture and engineering
