Job Description Summary of Performance Expectations:
Coordinates outpatient pharmacy services including those for Catawba Valley Health System employees and CVMC patients at discharge (including Meds2Beds and indigent prescriptions). Also serves as a community pharmacy to the patients of Catawba Valley Health System and the general public. Provides additional services as needed, including vaccinations, medication counseling and medication therapy management. Supervises and trains Community Pharmacy Technician and Coordinator. Maintains schedule for Community Pharmacy. Assumes responsibility for periodically reviewing and improving outpatient services. Manages pharmacy inventory, optimizing to meet the needs of patients while minimizing excess on hand. Ensures compliance with NCBOP, DEA, 340B program and insurance billing. Strives to provide excellent customer experience to all patients that encounter the Community Pharmacy. Serves as permit holder with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and Coordinator with the DEA.
Education & Credentials:
Required
Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Program. Currently licensed in North Carolina as a pharmacist.
Preferred
Experience in ambulatory care and outpatient dispensing and counseling.
Work Experience:
Required
Three years of retail pharmacy experience. Registered Pharmacist with the NC BOP. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date. Vaccination Certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred
Experience as a pharmacy retail manager.
