Community Pharmacy Technician Coordinator
Front‑line, full‑time Community Pharmacy Technician Coordinator at Catawba Valley Health System.
Job Summary Maintains a leadership role in providing training, guidance, and instructions to other pharmacy technicians. Manages the outpatient technician schedules. Supervises technician‑defined activities including communicating with discharge units, prioritizes prescription filling, and inventory control. Coordinates the transitions of care program, Meds2Beds, by anticipating expansion and inventory levels. Supports and updates the pill counter, Kirby Lester. Maintains and updates the Fairgrove inventory. Provides knowledge of 340B accumulation with outpatient and indigent prescriptions. Maintains Meds2Beds educational material for pharmacy and unit staff and updates periodically. Assists the pharmacist in outpatient pharmacy services including insurance billing, requesting refills from doctor offices, entering patients/orders in the pharmacy management system, processing all types of claims and prescription fills. Process employee prescriptions, discharge prescriptions, stat orders, and indigent drug programs. Provides support to vaccine administration program. Works with the pharmacist to periodically review and improve outpatient services.
Qualifications Education & Credentials
Registered with NC BOP and maintains 20 hours of Continuing Education in Pharmacy Field every two years.
Certified from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT), Immunization Administration Certificate (or equivalent) within six months of hire.
340B University training completed within six months of hire.
Preferred
Formal technical or vocational training.
Work Experience
Three or more years Pharmacy technician experience. Given training and on‑the‑job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred
Five years experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy setting. Supervisory experience.
