Recruiting Finance, Accounting & Real Estate Leaders across the US We are currently partnered with a reputable Real Estate Firm in New York. As they look to scale in 2026, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Leader to join a dynamic finance team.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operational accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

Implement and optimize efficient processes to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights into financial performance and trends.

Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.

Continuously assess and enhance control procedures to align with industry best practices.

Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.

Prepare audit schedules and coordinate responses to audit inquiries.

Supervise and mentor a talented team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Collaborate with other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure seamless financial operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA is preferable.

5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on operational accounting.

Previous experience in an accounting or managerial role, preferably in a Real Estate or Construction Firm.

Background in public accounting is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
