Amergis
The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
Minimum Requirements
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Position Details Duration: 2025-2026 School Year
Pay Rate: $20 / hr , pay weekly
Hours/schedule: Regular School Year Hours: Mon - Fri (7:45 A.M-2:45 P.M)
Qualifications/Licensure HS Diploma/GED Required
Typical job duties & work environment Working 1-1 with students that have Autism and related behavior issues. Also some other functions such as classroom prep
Specific experience required Previous experience with Autism
Top 3 skills needed for success Timely, professional , able to verbally deescalate
Ratios (if applicable) average of 7 students in the classroom
Location of assignment Baltimore, MD
Float Requirement Yes- Float to other classrooms as needed
Credentialing Requirements Fingerprinting, CPS, MD486, MSDE, Seasonal Flu Shot
