Responsibilities
Provide customer Systems Administration and other Services as required. These services shall include maintaining current system operations and capabilities, incorporating new software capabilities, assisting with system integration, analysis, and recommendations for current and future architecture, providing on-call support, performing all security functions as required, performing technology refreshes, and supporting Information Assurance (IA) policies.
Under direct supervision, installs and maintains operating and systems software, manages systems configuration, monitors compliance with system standards, evaluates software and/or hardware, administers and maintains user accounts and profiles, and performs operating system troubleshooting.
Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
Provide software configurations, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL version 6 and version 8), Microsoft Windows Server, Agile Client, Agile Server, DISA GCCS, VMware vSphere, Storage Area Network (SAN), and associated components.
Download and implement software patches, configurations, and STIGs.>
Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
Prepare, update, and provide all project documentation and drawings as directed.
Provides technical support for system users.
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
Active Secret clearance
A minimum of 3 years of system administration experience is required.
An active CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
Additional specific information assurance certification requirements may be required at the task order level.
Experience with Coast Guard systems is highly desired.
