Gypsum Management and Supply
Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing the overall revenue and operational aspects of the Market. The Market Manager will be located at a specific store within their market and will assume the Store Manager responsibilities of that store. Duties include operation of the stores within a designated Market – tool rental, merchandise sales, inventory control, shipping & receiving, administrative and financial operations, safety, and merchandising. The Market Manager ensures all stores are compliant with company policies and procedures, coaches, develops, and supervises the store managers and other field support positions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; address concerns and resolve problems. Partner with District Manager to meet budgets, market development, and promotions.
Collaborate with Store Managers on inventory management, store audits, and process improvement; work with HR Business Partner on recruiting within the Market.
Plan and execute actions to meet store rental revenue, sales, and profitability goals; develop understanding of store financials to drive performance.
Oversee store opening/closing, inventory planning, cash handling, bank deposits, and merchandise selection based on customer feedback.
Provide testing and feedback on company initiatives; merchandize showroom and warehouse for effective material handling.
Market the Ames line of automatic taping tools, parts, and equipment; promote add‑on sales with merchandise assortment.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement; manage tool and merchandise shipments and audits; supervise assistant managers, associates, and drivers when applicable.
Perform all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws; other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Strong customer service, suggestive selling, financial acumen, and inventory control skills. Bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma) with 5+ years of similar store P&L management experience.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Basic arithmetic and rate, ratio, and percentage calculations.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and forklift certification (required in some stores).
Travel required: 10‑20% of time.
Computer proficiency: Outlook, Word, Excel, database operations; POS system experience helpful.
Strong operations, sales, and customer service focus. Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team, leading and delegating as needed, and maintaining effective relationships at all levels.

Physical Requirements
Remain stationary in an office 80% of the time; frequent movement within the office.
Operate basic office machinery.
