Merrill Gardens at Cedar Mill is currently searching for a Group Fitness Instructor who is familiar with group fitness program development, planning, and instruction of group fitness classes/activities, including aquatic group fitness classes.

Group Fitness Instructor Responsibilities

Plan and lead group fitness classes tailored to older adults

Promote classes through events and outreach

Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment

Respond to resident needs with empathy and professionalism

Support community wellness goals and perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred

Group Fitness Certification (ACE or equivalent) within 3 months of hire

2+ years of experience, preferably with older adults

Strong communication, customer service, and time management skills

Knowledge of injury prevention, emergency procedures, and group fitness best practices

Physical Requirements This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
