Machine Operator I
Responsible for operating industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine, etc. in accordance with company procedures. An operator will place the production part into the machine, cycle the equipment and retrieve the part. The employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts. Other Responsibilities:
Setting up machines at the beginning ofshift to ensure proper workingorder Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shift Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running Troubleshoot problems during machine operation Ensure stocks /inventory of needed materials and tools are ready and available at all times Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors Properly use personal protective equipment when required Notify supervisors/leads of problems that may occur with equipment or part quality Other activities may include but are not limitedto: cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding, prepping kits and layouts to meet customerspecifications Maintain regular attendance have reliable means of transportation Performother tasks as assigned Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable. Must have intermediateblueprint reading knowledgeand the ability to follow the work order instructions Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available) Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test Teamplayer- must be able to work with others assigned to machine Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals Adaptable to changing demands Attentive to detail watching for materialdefects and any quality issues Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting throughoutshift Capableofrepetitively lifting 25-50 lbs. Candidates must be flexibleto work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/orholidays Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typicalmanufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts. Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work. A normally cleanwork environment where the process creates somegrinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors,andvibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift. The noise level in the work environmentis normaltomanufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement. A non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In the winter it is heated. Education and Experience
