Overview The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Budget Analyst – Fiscal Liaison. This position will support Maintenance, Motor Pool, and Equipment programs. Other MDT office locations may be considered. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities.
Responsibilities
Facilitate the implementation and oversight of fiscal plans and program objectives related to state and federal budget projections.
Provide guidance to programs for state and federal grant/project obligation and management, contract management, and program execution support.
Report to the Financial Contact Section Supervisor and does not supervise others.
Qualifications Level 2.1 ($34.94/hr)
– Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. 1 year of accounting, budget, or related financial experience.
Level 2.2 ($36.69/hr)
– Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. 2 years of accounting, budget, or related financial experience.
Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 4 years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, and requirements relative to government finance, accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and auditing.
Ability to conduct, apply, and translate research and analysis of relevant data into viable recommendations and support materials for decision makers.
Effective communication skills when formulating and presenting required information or recommendations to program areas.
