Job Summary The registered nurse takes primary responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for each assigned patient within the interventional radiology unit.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care and anticipate patient needs.
Coordinate the activities of nursing staff members.
Follow up on all care‑related activities, ensuring physician orders are accurately transcribed and carried out in a timely manner. Coordinate the plan of care.
Conduct patient teaching specific to disease entity and home management.
Actively participate in ensuring care continuum.
Collaborate with other nursing and ancillary services to ensure seamless communication and uninterrupted patient care.
Model leadership behaviors and foster a spirit of collaboration and teamwork. Mentor peers and colleagues.
Minimum Requirements
Hospital experience dealing with conscious sedation.
Registered Nurse: CA (RN:CA).
BLS‑CPR, from AHA.
ACLS, from AHA.
Preferred Qualifications
Interventional Radiology experience.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Mercy Hospital Southwest is a 78‑bed facility and the only hospital located in the rapidly growing area west of Highway 99. Mercy Hospital is a member of Dignity Health and has served the residents of Bakersfield and Kern County with quality, compassionate care since 1910.
Pay Range $43.59 – $75.64 per hour
