Epic Willow Ambulatory Pharmacist (WAM)

Minimum 12 Months (Extension up to 36 Months Possible)
This is a fully remote contract opportunity supporting a healthcare organization leveraging Epic Willow technologies. The role focuses on Epic Willow Ambulatory and Inpatient solutions, requiring deep experience in pharmacy workflows, Epic build and optimization, and collaboration across clinical and IT teams. Candidates must have strong Epic Willow Inpatient expertise, with Epic Willow Ambulatory certification preferred.
This role is ideal for a senior Epic Pharmacist who enjoys impactful project-based work and long-term system optimization. You’ll contribute to high-visibility Epic initiatives, including new pharmacy openings, infusion integrations, and advanced clinical calculators, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in a 40-hour-per-week environment.
Contract Duration 12 – 36 Months (possible conversion for local talent)
Required Skills & Experience
Epic Willow Inpatient Certification (required)
Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of Epic Willow build, configuration, testing, and support experience
Strong knowledge of pharmacy workflows, medication build, order sets, and clinical integrations
Experience collaborating with clinicians, IT teams, and operational leadership
Proven ability to troubleshoot, support go-lives, and optimize post-implementation Epic environments
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with Epic Willow Inventory
Experience with Specialty Pharmacy and Compass Rose
Epic Home Infusion experience
Experience supporting infusion pump integrations (BD Alaris preferred)
What You Will Be Doing
100% Epic Willow (Ambulatory, Inpatient, Inventory, Specialty Pharmacy, Home Infusion)
Daily Responsibilities
70% Project-Based Epic Build, Enhancements, and Optimization
15% Incident and Request Back-Up Support
15% Team Collaboration with Clinical, IT, and Operational Stakeholders
Key Projects May Include:
Epic Willow Ambulatory, Inventory, and Specialty Pharmacy (Compass Rose)
Epic Home Infusion (post-WAM go-live)
Anti-Xa and PTT calculator updates
Epic Dispense Prep conversion from DoseEdge
Infusion Pump Integration (BD Alaris)
Opening a new Retail Pharmacy location
eRX to NDC charge workflow updates
Additional Notes:
40 hours per week
Fully remote contract role
Potential conversion to FTE (but must already reside within CT; no relocation assistance provided)
