Good Shepherd Healthcare System (GSHCS) is looking for a Physician Associate to join our Surgical Services team.

Compensation range: $180,000 - $210,000

Schedule: Fulltime - 4 10-hour shifts with call rotation.

Physician Associate - Surgery Responsibilities & Duties

Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.

Conduct preoperative patient assessments to ensure readiness for surgery.

Monitor patients' vital signs and condition during surgery.

Perform wound closures, including suturing and applying dressings.

Provide postoperative care, including monitoring for complications and changing dressings.

Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, risks, and postoperative care.

Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Participate in clinical rounds and patient consultations.

Document patient interactions and clinical procedures accurately in medical records.

Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience as a surgical Physician Associate.

Master's degree in Physician Associate Studies or relevant field.

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and operating room protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

National Certification.

Active ACLS and BLS certifications.

Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Current and unrestricted state licensure as a Physician Associate.

Graduate from an accredited Physician Associate program.

Strong clinical and technical skills relevant to surgical procedures.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Commitment to patient-centered care and patient education.
