Locations
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
The Service Maintenance Worker is responsible for all phases of landscape and grounds maintenance and construction. This position involves the complete maintenance of the campus to include mowing, edging, trimming and irrigation systems. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
Turf maintenance to include mowing, raking, edging, trimming, fertilizing, aerating watering and applying pesticides to turf grass. Responsible for working collaboratively with facilities to assist in the maintenance of the baseball field on both east and west campuses and the softball field on east. Maintain the East Campus athletic fields to include cutting, edging, dragging, lining for high school games, emptying trash, monitoring the water schedule and any other duties to help keep the fields in good condition for the high school season. Maintain the West campus baseball field. Ornamental maintenance to include pruning, fertilizing, spraying, watering and planting ornamental shrubs, trees and ground covers as well as mulching and weeding shrub beds. Also, includes the planting, fertilizing, spraying, watering and dead-heading of annual flowers. Paved area maintenance to include cleaning, edging, repairing paved areas such as walks and streets, repairing pot holes, etc. Litter collection to include the collection and disposal of all litter and debris. Landscape construction involves the installation of new campus landscapes; the planting of trees, shrubs and grass; and also, irrigation systems. Operates and performs preventive maintenance on landscape maintenance power and hand equipment/tools. Performs routine inspections; cleaning; maintenance and repair to exterior life safety elements such as storm sewers, flood gates and flood control levees. In the event of impending flood constructs sand bag, rip rap and earthen levees; enacts flood control measures; and, also operates the pumps etc. Does tree maintenance and take downs to minimize injury and property damage hazard. Performs routine inspections and repairs campus irrigation systems. Completes storm clean up. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver\'s license in good standing.
