Job Summary The Sales Manager – SteelBuy is responsible for driving revenue growth by building the SteelBuy marketplace from the ground up, including customer acquisition, liquidity development, and platform adoption. This role requires a hands‑on, quota‑carrying sales leader who will both originate and execute steel transactions while helping establish the foundational sales processes and infrastructure as the organisation scales.
In addition to owning pipeline development and deal execution, the Sales Manager will play a key role in building, mentoring, and scaling a high‑performing sales team over time. The role will serve as a primary voice between the market and SteelBuy's product, pricing, and leadership teams, helping shape go‑to‑market strategy, sales playbooks, and long‑term growth plans.
Key Accountabilities
Build and grow the SteelBuy marketplace by acquiring buyers and sellers and increasing transaction volume
Originate, negotiate, and execute steel transactions while maintaining direct accountability for achieving SteelBuy's overall sales and revenue targets
Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline; consistently achieve revenue and volume targets
Drive customer adoption of SteelBuy's digital tools, workflows, and pricing intelligence
Establish foundational sales processes, playbooks, and best practices to support scale
Provide real‑time market feedback to product, pricing, and leadership teams to inform platform development and go‑to‑market strategy
Support onboarding, training, and mentorship of new sales team members as the organisation grows
Maintain strong relationships across service centres, manufacturers, distributors, mills, and trading partners

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
7+ years of sales experience in steel, metals, or industrial commodities
Experience with digital marketplaces, SaaS, or platform‑based sales models
Strong understanding of steel products, pricing, and supply chains
Proven ability to manage customer relationships and close deals
Experience selling to service centres, manufacturers, or trading partners
CRM experience preferred (Salesforce or similar)
