Job Summary The Sales Manager – SteelBuy is responsible for driving revenue growth by building the SteelBuy marketplace from the ground up, including customer acquisition, liquidity development, and platform adoption. This role requires a hands‑on, quota‑carrying sales leader who will both originate and execute steel transactions while helping establish the foundational sales processes and infrastructure as the organization scales.

Key Responsibilities

Build and grow the SteelBuy marketplace by acquiring buyers and sellers and increasing transaction volume.

Originate, negotiate, and execute steel transactions while maintaining direct accountability for achieving SteelBuy’s overall sales and revenue targets.

Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline; consistently achieve revenue and volume targets.

Drive customer adoption of SteelBuy’s digital tools, workflows, and pricing intelligence.

Establish foundational sales processes, playbooks, and best practices to support scale.

Provide real‑time market feedback to product, pricing, and leadership teams to inform platform development and go‑to‑market strategy.

Support onboarding, training, and mentorship of new sales team members as the organization grows.

Maintain strong relationships across service centers, manufacturers, distributors, mills, and trading partners.

Qualifications

7+ years of sales experience in steel, metals, or industrial commodities.

Experience with digital marketplaces, SaaS, or platform‑based sales models.

Strong understanding of steel products, pricing, and supply chains.

Proven ability to manage customer relationships and close deals.

Experience selling to service centers, manufacturers, or trading partners.

CRM experience preferred (Salesforce or similar).
