Compensation The base hourly rate for this position is $33.77.

Job Overview Johns Manville located in Richmond, Indiana is hiring Industrial Plant Electrician who enjoys being part of a team environment. The Industrial Electrician works under the general supervision of the maintenance supervisor, performing all electrical maintenance on equipment to maximize productivity while maintaining safety and quality standards. We are searching for individuals who are dependable, responsible and quality-minded who have a history of working safely in a manufacturing environment.

Positions are available for both 5‑day (M‑F 7a‑3p) and 7‑day schedules (5a‑5p or 5p‑5a in a 2‑2‑3 setup).

About the Facility The Richmond, Indiana Facility produces high volumes of quality blow wool insulation for contractors and retail customers. We produce almost 50% of the blowing wool for JM at the Richmond Plant and serve all but the western United States market. The facility has 100 employees and is union – U.A.W. Local #1073.

Responsibilities

Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company policies and compliance requirements. Reports hazardous conditions immediately, maintains security procedures and wears protective equipment as required.

Inspect, assemble, install, and repair all electrical AC and DC circuits, instrumentation, switchgear, motors, and other electrical equipment throughout the plant.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as prescribed by Plant Supervision.

Plan and lay‑out assigned work orders and take responsibility for the completion of assignments. Create and complete work orders, requisitions, time distribution, material lists, material usage lists and perform other duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.

Perform circuit repairs and troubleshooting or new installations as required.

Provide sketches of approved changes made to the wiring upon completion of the job.

Possess knowledge of and perform electro‑mechanical system diagnosis, and repair/installation.

Skillfully perform all phases of conduit running, wire pulling, and termination as required.

Perform soldering.

Aid Plant Mechanics and Operations personnel in resolving day‑to‑day equipment problems.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience with 480 V AC motor control circuits.

Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electric Code.

Experience with NFPA 70E safety requirements.

Journeyman electrician card preferred.

Troubleshooting experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), AC/DC drives and basic instrumentation (temperature, level, pressure).

Working knowledge of basic electrical equipment (digital multimeter, megger, etc.).

Ability to tolerate working from heights and elevated temperatures.

Good hearing, vision (color), speaking, and finger dexterity skills.

Basic computer skills and the ability to understand technical prints, charts and diagrams.

Working knowledge of SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.

Follow instructions, policies and procedures.

Safely and properly use electrical testing equipment.

Read electrical prints and schematics.

Proven ability to learn new technology and equipment operation.

Physically able to perform essential job functions.

Must be respirator ready.

Ability to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lb.

PLC experience preferred, not required.
