Nesco Data Center is seeking an Onsite Data Center Technician in the Greater Suwanee GA Area:
We are seeking a
flexible and hands‑on Data Center Technician
for an opportunity with regularly scheduled M‑F/8‑5pm site delivery efforts. This is an ideal role for someone who is reliable, self‑directed, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
Weekend availability and participation in on‑call rotations are required .
This technician will support ongoing infrastructure tasks, including hardware installation, inventory tracking, hardware decommissioning, shipping/receiving, and coordination with remote support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and process incoming hardware shipments, including
scanning and forwarding packing slips
Handle
Dell LOIS packages
(typically HDDs), scanning and submitting order details to support teams
Ship Dell LOIS replacement hardware in coordination with the site's shipping manager
Replace failed hard drives
in server infrastructure (training will be provided)
Collect failed HDDs from storage racks and transfer to proper disposal bins
Rack‑and‑stack new equipment , including installation and network cabling
Un‑rack and decommission retired hardware , ensuring clean and accurate cabling removal
Audit and maintain
spare parts inventory , including updating tracking spreadsheets
Restock spare components, such as Sanmina OS drives, DB drives, and 6TB HDDs
Partner with the
Carbonite Safe Ops Team
on failed component replacements and diagnostics
Support
scheduled maintenance windows , hardware deployments, and infrastructure projects
Provide support for
day‑to‑day Cloud Operations tasks
Participate in
on‑call rotation
and provide
support on weekends
as needed
Qualifications:
1+ years of hands‑on IT, data center, or hardware support experience preferred
Comfortable with physical hardware tasks, including lifting, racking, and cable management
Proficiency with tracking tools such as Excel or Google Sheets
Strong organizational skills and an ability to follow standard operating procedures
Excellent communication skills, especially when coordinating with remote teams
Dependable transportation and punctuality for scheduled on‑site shifts
