What You’ll Do
Promote safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, taking an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others.
Repair and maintain plant equipment, including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear‑part replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service; perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.
Inspect equipment and structures daily to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximizing production and minimizing interruptions.
Monitor plant processes and materials, especially aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas, to identify problems and ensure safety and compliance.
Document and record information by entering and maintaining service and lubrication reports for plant equipment to ensure up‑to‑date preventive maintenance.
Perform general physical activities that assist with plant operations, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
Additional Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned.
Skills You’ll Need
Experience: Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Best Practices: General principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production are preferred.
Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands, and be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
Mechanical Skills: Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
