Job Overview At MercyOne Elkader Medical Center, a 25‑bed critical access hospital, we provide life‑saving care to the rural communities of Clayton County and surrounding areas through ambulance and emergency services. We are seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to plan, administer, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy for all appropriate programs and services within the PM&R department for patients ranging in age from infants to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with department protocol.
Provide direct patient care specific to each age group, offering clear instructions to infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and geriatric patients.
Plan day‑to‑day activities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with other hospital employees and guests.
Maintain a patient‑centered environment, making patients feel at ease and comfortable.
Qualifications
Registration through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NCBOT).
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to give clear instructions to individuals and groups ranging from infant to geriatric.
Ability to plan day‑to‑day activities, work independently, and put patients at ease.
