Part Time / As-Needed / On-Call / Up to an 8-hour school day, scheduled only as needed
Position summary Saint Raphael Catholic School seeks dependable, mission-driven Substitute Teachers to serve on an as-needed, on-call basis. This position is ideal for individuals who are flexible, responsive, and able to step into the classroom with little advance notice to ensure continuity of instruction and a safe, productive learning environment. Substitute Teachers may be contacted same-day or with minimal notice, depending on school needs.
Key responsibilities
Support and uphold the mission of Saint Raphael Catholic School as articulated at both the diocesan and school levels
Implement lesson plans, classroom routines, and procedures left by the lead teacher
Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment
Supervise students and ensure their safety and well-being throughout the school day
Collaborate respectfully with faculty, staff, and administration
Serve as a missionary disciple and support the formation of students within our Catholic school community
Be available on a
regular but flexible, as-needed basis , including the ability to respond to last-minute coverage requests
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience:
Prior classroom or educational experience is
strongly preferred
Candidates without formal teaching experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong classroom management skills, professionalism, and the ability to adapt quickly
Practicing Catholics with prior teaching or school experience are preferred
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to manage a classroom independently
Must be able to report to campus on short notice when contacted
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a full background check
