Adjunct Instructor Public Safety

Northcentral Technical College (NTC) invites applications for the Adjunct Instructor Public Safety position. Applicants will help create a performance-based learning environment in accordance with the college’s educational objectives.
Job Summary
– The instructor is primarily responsible for designing and delivering instruction that meets course competencies and student learning outcomes, maintaining accurate attendance and academic records, and ensuring a safe and orderly classroom environment.
Responsibilities
Plan learning-centered instruction based on course competencies, including activities, teaching methods and learning strategies for diverse students.
Use course text, outlines, syllabi and other curriculum materials following college and department guidelines.
Utilize learning technology (Canvas, Starfish, Cengage, Teams, etc.) for teaching, assessment, online/distance learning, and student record keeping.
Communicate with students, provide timely feedback, and assist with course completion.
Maintain a safe, secure classroom/laboratory/shop environment with proper housekeeping and equipment security.
Qualifications Qualifications have changed – please reapply if you meet the updated criteria. Candidates should have relevant experience in public safety education, but the specific program areas include Criminal Justice, Emergency Medical Service, Fire, Motorcycle Safety, Paramedic, and related fields.
Adjunct positions are hired on a per-course basis each semester. Successful applicants may have the opportunity to teach a maximum of 12 student contact hours per week, in day, evening, or weekend classes. An immediate need may not exist, but applicants will be retained for future part-time opportunities.
