Special Education Teacher
to support elementary school students for the 2025‑2026 school year.
In this role, you’ll provide individualized instruction for students in 3rd‑5th grade in a substantial separate setting, fostering academic, communication, and social‑emotional growth. You’ll collaborate with staff and families and create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that foster independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Location: In‑person in Plymouth County, MA (no hybrid or remote opportunities available)
Expected Start Date: December 2025
Expected End Date: June 2026
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
Grade Levels: Elementary, 3rd‑5th grade
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small‑group instruction aligned with IEP goals, supporting academic growth, communication, and social‑emotional development for upper elementary students.
Implement positive behavior supports and proactive strategies to promote self‑regulation, cooperation, and sustained classroom engagement in a sub‑separate setting.
Differentiate lessons and materials to meet diverse learning, behavioral, and executive functioning needs across the classroom.
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to ensure consistent implementation of interventions and student supports.
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting instruction based on data, observations, and team input.
Support measurable student growth by reinforcing essential skills, strengthening independence, and helping learners generalize strategies across settings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Primary/Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
Professional teaching license with a Special Education endorsement from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Experience supporting students with disabilities in an academic or classroom‑based setting.
