Clinical Supervisor of Kaplan House
Purpose: The Kaplan House (Manhattan) provides therapeutic and support services to adolescents ages 17-21 who are referred to us through ACS and the Juvenile Justice system. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional/development issues. Kaplan House offers an extensive independent living skills program, including vocational preparation, and educational services that assist youth towards reaching independence.
Position Overview The Clinical Supervisor has clinical and administrative responsibility for a residential program unit, under the supervision and direction of the Director. The Supervisor is responsible for carrying a small caseload, supervising clinical staff, ensuring the provision of psychotherapeutic, psychiatric and case management services for residents, overseeing administrative processes, and participating in various administrative and team conferences.

Key Essential Functions
Provide weekly clinical supervision to case planners and case managers
Teach and monitor supervisee’s screening, assessment and monitoring of all safety related concerns with residents
Ensure that case planners oversee provision of all counseling, vocational/educational, psychiatric and recreational services to residents
Ensure case managers are completing required home visits and face‑to‑face contacts with resources
Ensure case managers are presenting the agency professionally and responsibly at criminal and/or family court hearings
Meet with assigned residents for weekly sessions, engage and remain in contact with their parents, ensure that home visits are completed, vocational/educational, psychiatric, recreational services provided and address any safety and risk concerns
Assist supervisees in engaging families in planning for services and complying with ACS outreach requirements
Assist supervisees as necessary, in identifying and providing access to specific concrete services and community resources
Advocate, as necessary, with external resources such as mental health providers, treatment facilities, FCLS, community members, etc. on behalf of residents
Attend family court hearings when additional support is requested
Assist in the development and implementation of specialized groups related to the needs of residents and their families
Attend conferences at ACS offices and other community‑based meetings
Attend ACS and JB trainings as required
Participate in internal and external continuous quality improvement projects
Make reports to State Central Registry or Justice Center as needed
Complete all other duties as needed and requested
Participate in training and implementation of the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM)
Team Process
Lead or co‑lead, and attend all group supervisions, treatment team meetings, family treatment conferences, transfer conferences, incident review meetings, ITM planning meetings and administrative meetings
Work jointly with medical, DSPs, psychiatric and vocational/educational departments to ensure provision of services to residents
Documentation
Teach, revise, and ensure accurate and timely completion of all clinical documents under the responsibility of clinical staff, including and not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, transitional plans, safety plans, court updates, etc.
Review and ensure completion of accurate and timely Family Assessment Service Plan Reports (FASP) and Permanency Hearing Reports (PHR)
Ensure completion and review of agency internal Incident Reports in Alltrac system
Complete progress notes in CONNECTIONS and MyAvatar, as well as review those of supervisee’s
Maintain weekly supervision notes and complete all supervisee’s evaluations in a timely fashion
Complete ACS Connections monthly supervisory reviews for all residents
