We are hiring a Refrigeration Mechanic to work in Plant Services. You will report to the Plant Services Manager and join a team of about 14 associates.
Day In The Life Of a Refrigeration Mechanic Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures along with pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties to ensure SQF (Safe Quality Food); food safety and Quality Assurance of product when being produced. The Refrigeration Mechanic will report to the Engineering Manager and must follow all OSHA and Plant safety rules.
You Will
Operate ammonia refrigeration equipment throughout the plant.
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation with Supervisors and other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair.
Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Lies out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and also repair and/or replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair problems related to the facility mechanical systems and/or ammonia refrigeration systems.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
Operate cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Become a member of the site Emergency Response team.
You Have
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and experience operating ammonia refrigeration systems and/or Freon experience.
Candidate must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
This individual must be able to read and comprehend all mechanical detail and exploded assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics, related parts Bill of materials and parts terminology.
