HVAC Mechanic This role provides routine and specialized building repair and maintenance support for hospital facilities and equipment. You will utilize a computerized maintenance management system to ensure efficient operations. Key responsibilities include identifying and correcting problems in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems. The role also involves providing technical support and guidance to facility staff and participating in hospital and departmental safety programs and educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized maintenance and repair of hospital facilities and equipment.

Utilize computerized maintenance management systems effectively.

Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including pumps, belt drivers, gear reduction drives, and piping.

Handle plumbing systems by installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes and fixtures.

Work on electrical systems, installing, testing, maintaining, and diagnosing wiring and components.

Maintain and troubleshoot control systems such as sensors, solenoids, and motors.

Provide technical support and guidance to facility staff.

Participate actively in safety programs and training.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in electrical systems, facility maintenance, plumbing, and troubleshooting.

Experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.

Ability to work with pneumatic controls, DDC controls, and other control systems.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.

Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with preventive maintenance and building maintenance.

Ability to work on large fan arrays, low voltage safety circuits, and VAV maintenance.

Knowledge of air balancing, metal duct work, and fire/smoke dampers.

Proficient in computerized systems for job performance.

Work Environment The position is based inside a hospital, requiring work from 7 am to 6 pm, with the necessity to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $37.00 per hour.
