Patient Care Secretary Inpatient WEEKENDS
The Patient Care Secretary is a skilled secretarial professional who supports the Team Manager, managing all patient care related clerical procedures and ensuring efficient operations.
Schedule:
Weekends only, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Location:
1400 NW 12th Ave, Miami, FL 33136 (UM Hospital)
Responsibilities
Screens telephone calls for the Team Manager and facilitates communication among patients, families, and team members.
Maintains the daily schedule for all team members and prepares agendas for weekly team meetings.
Establishes, maintains, and closes patient charts, including mailing and following up on required documentation (Plans‑of‑Care, Physician Authorization forms, Medical Information Request forms).
Provides backup documentation to the Billing Department routinely and as requested.
Orders D.M.E. supplies and keeps records of orders and pick‑ups.
Enters patient care and volunteer data into Vx and event tracking systems.
Communicates with staff and outside agencies as directed by the Team Manager.
Maintains a list of part‑time staff and coordinates their schedules.
Collaborates with other Patient Care Secretaries to order supplies and documentation forms.
Handles routine correspondence for the Team Manager and other team members.
Sorts and processes all patient care mail.
Maintains A.D.T. and verifies daily census accuracy.
Provides coverage for lunch, team meetings, and short absences when the program employs multiple Patient Care Secretaries.
Performs additional tasks assigned by the Team Manager.
Qualifications
Three years of prior relevant work experience (preferred).
Excellent typing and computer literacy skills.
Strong multitasking ability.
Excellent communication skills, both written and telephone.
Education High school graduate or equivalent required.
