Job Description The Mental Health Counselor provides structured, evidence‑based psychotherapy as part of an appropriate treatment plan. The role requires assessment of physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, and financial factors to achieve healthcare goals; development and maintenance of accurate individualized progress records; recognition of cultural influences on behaviors; and encouragement of patients to verbalize fears and anxieties while sustaining therapeutic communication.
Responsibilities
Deliver structured, evidence‑based psychotherapy within a treatment plan
Assess physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, and financial factors affecting patient health
Maintain accurate, timely individualized patient progress records
Identify cultural and communication barriers that may influence patient behaviors
Encourage patients to express fears and anxieties and maintain therapeutic communication
Qualifications
Master’s degree (Required)
Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate (BLS)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern License (RCSWI) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
