Overview

The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Arizona is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in the College of Medicine. We seek investigators interested in data science pertaining to substance use disorder, genetic variation, and public‑health issues in cancer and cancer treatments. The candidate should have experience collecting and managing data, applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), and mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. Duties & Responsibilities

Seek and/or retain extramural funding by developing and submitting research grant proposals; partner with faculty to form research teams, write funding proposals, and disseminate results through peer‑reviewed publications, conferences, and invited lectures. Develop independent research programs and contribute to Ph.D., M.D., and undergraduate education. Engage in teaching activities for undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. Participate in departmental and College committees and professional organizations. Additional duties may be assigned as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D., Dr.P.H.,/or M.D. or comparable doctoral degree. At least three (3) years of postdoctoral training. Meeting University of Arizona criteria for appointment to a tenure‑eligible faculty position. Established record of productivity and innovation. Strong potential to establish an independent lab and extramurally funded research program. Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in data‑science management, AI, and public‑health issues in substance use disorder, cancer therapies, and HPV propagation. Experience with human research and IRB submission. Experience training students. Excellent collaborative communication skills. Experience working with diverse communities. Track record of grant writing and peer‑reviewed publications. Benefits
