Responsibilities
Safe handling of equipment and materials understanding the hazards and proper utilization of PPE
Maintain on time production schedule by coordinating daily activities
Accurate and timely completion of tasks and documentation
Effective communication with team members and management
Work overtime to cover vacancies/vacations and meet Customer requirements, including weekends
Promote teamwork by assisting others where and when needed
Train new or less experienced team members
Cross train to other processes and positions for business continuity and flexibility
Operate equipment in accordance with SOPs
Observe, adjust, and monitor equipment to ensure safety, quality, and efficient operation
Complete manual operations as required by the process
Document process critical data timely and accurately
Issue materials and complete orders in Deacom
Maintain 5S standards
Participate in continuous improvement efforts
Perform basic care, housekeeping and maintenance of equipment and work area
Communicate operational needs within team and with management
Attend all plant meetings and complete all trainings on time
Carry out additional duties as assigned
Ability to occasionally push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to wear a respirator as required by the task being performed or chemical safety data sheets
Work safely around and appropriately handle hazardous chemicals around plant
Safety
– Adhere to all plant safety policies and compliance regulations. Actively participate in the safety process through completing safety audits, participating in safety projects, identifying site hazards and contributing to safety improvements, and being an attending member of a safety team. Complete annual safety training as required.
Quality
– Become familiar with, understand and comply with Milliken Quality Policy, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), relevant ISO 9000 standards and Company Policies that are applicable to this position.
Responsible Care
– Be aware of RC-14001 requirements and follow plant procedures to ensure compliance. Understand Significant Aspects of your job and help ensure controls reduce negative impacts. Take actions to minimize waste, prevent pollution and conserve energy.
Hazardous Waste Handling
– All associates who handle hazardous waste shall be given an overview of regulations and company policies. Detailed instruction on handling, collecting, labeling, and transporting hazardous waste as outlined in RCRA and OSHA regulations. Includes spill notification and response procedures.
Environmental, Health, Safety & Security Responsibilities
Understand the relevant requirements of the Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) and RC-14001 certification.
Conformance to Environmental, Safety and Responsible Care Policies and RCMS requirements.
Identify significant environmental impacts and help implement controls to reduce negative effects.
Understand potential consequences of deviation from operating procedures.
Immediately report accidents and releases per the escalation protocol.
Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and security rules and programs.
Recognize that adherence to EHS responsibilities is a condition of employment.
Contribute to continuous improvement of plant EHS and RC performance.
Qualifications – Required
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions
Customer Oriented – Ability to meet or exceed customers’ needs while following company procedures
Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to all details of a project or task and to perform work accurately
Tactful – Ability to show consideration for and maintain good relations with others

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
Experience with Microsoft software applications; keyboarding proficiency and general computer knowledge/experience preferred
