Job Title: Instrumentation Fitter
Job Description As an Instrumentation Fitter, you will be responsible for interpreting and executing plans and schematics related to instrumentation systems. You will adjust, repair, and fabricate components and parts essential for launch environments. Your role will be vital in ensuring the functionality and reliability of instrumentation within the launch site.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, datasheets/manuals, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
Utilize P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) to guide tasks.
Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components of ground hardware, test, and integration equipment.
Fabricate and install parts and systems using hand tools, power tools, and test instruments.
Work with various sizes of pipes and valves.
Connect and verify pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors.
Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs.
Collaborate with launch engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from launch activities.
Perform maintenance tasks as required for vehicle integration, pad maintenance, site preventative maintenance, and general facilities.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in tube bending, hand bending, and customizing pipes.
Proficiency in using computers or iPads.
Experience with medium and high pressure systems.
Knowledge of tube bending, schematic, blueprint interpretation, integration testing, fabrication, hand tool usage, thermocouples, and instrumentation.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
