Job Summary This temporary position processes customer transactions for a variety of routine to more complex financial transactions, including but not limited to check cashing, account withdrawals and deposits. The teller is responsible for balancing cash drawers, assisting customers with product line information and providing a quality customer experience. They identify and refer sales opportunities to appropriate bank personnel to meet individual and department goals, supporting the organization’s goals & values. Consistently gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Relationship Building:

Prepare for customer interactions.

Build rapport.

Ask open and closed‑ended questions to understand current and future financial goals.

Match customer needs to Seacoast Bank products and services.

Explain Seacoast Bank products and services confidently.

Create and enhance relationships based on customer needs.

Ask for referrals from new and existing customers.

Exhibit good listening skills and communicate clearly.

Respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service.

Seek appropriate people for more complex matters.

Balance business needs with customer requests while managing risk.

Embrace new technology and stay updated on industry changes.

Participate in community, charitable or civic events.

Collaborate with other associates and across the organization.

Understand consumer deposit and lending products and processes.

Acquire proficiencies in outbound calling.

Identify referral opportunities with internal business partners.

Observe presentations regarding banking products/services.

Understand customer‑facing technology and enroll customers in self‑service products.

Operations:

Process checks, cash and sale of negotiable instrument transactions per bank policies.

Ensure branch adherence to AML/BSA requirements, audit procedures, operational procedures, dual control, security, Business Continuity and all other regulated banking requirements.

Assist in remediating audit / scorecard / QC deficiencies.

Resolve customer concerns in a timely, professional manner and escalating as needed.

Balance cash drawer daily and monitor own work for accuracy.

Respond to management direction for difficult customer objections.

Adhere to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct.

Follow all safety and security procedures.

May be assigned vault responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 6 months cash handling experience required.

Minimum of 6 months previous experience in retail sales and/or financial services preferred.

Flexible schedule required with ability to work during hours of operations, including weekends and occasional non‑bank operational hours.

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and exercise initiative.

PC proficiency in Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Smartphone devices as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
