Facility Services Technician – 1st Shift

Location: Newport News, Virginia
Overview: Performs cleaning, floor maintenance, and infection control duties to meet state and regulatory standards. Maintains a clean work environment, supplies, and assists with equipment and bed cleaning.
What You Will Do
Demonstrate positive customer service, flexibility, and sense of urgency to provide service excellence.
Show respect, concern, and empathy for patients, customers, and coworkers.
Identify floor coverings and provide appropriate care per manufacturer recommendations; assess condition and perform necessary maintenance.
Perform routine cleanliness and preventive maintenance of floor care equipment to maximize machine life.
Maintain a safe patient care environment by complying with RHS, DNV, state regulations, and universal precautions for body mechanics, hazardous materials, and infection control.
Ensure timely and thorough cleaning of assigned areas per schedule and departmental policies.
Adhere to safe practices referenced in National Patient Safety Goals and RHS policies.
Qualifications Education
High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
Experience
Less than 1 year floor care experience (Required)
Less than 1 year experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
