Day-to-day within the school year calendar.
Purpose:
To prepare learners to achieve their personal best; continue the learning prescribed for that day; provide direction for each student as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Implements the instructional plans preparedby the teacher. When in long-term placement, creates instructional plans in accordance with the district curriculum.
Supports and maintains a classroom climate that is conducive to learning.
Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
Implements a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media as requiredin the instructional plans for the day.
Familiarizes self with and adheres to the policies and procedures as establishedby the Board of Education and Administration in written or verbal form.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains records as requiredby law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Serves as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive attitude, positive and respectful communication, and professional appearance.
Holds and communicates high expectations of student achievement and behavior.
When in long-term assignments, attends staff meetings and performs actively on committees as requiredby the administration.
Meets accepted standards of professional behavior.
Performs other tasks assigned by the administration or required for the effective implementation of District goals, objectives, programs, and policies.
Administers assessments on a timely basis as directedby administration.
Communicates affectively with parents when needed.
Provides individualizedand small group instruction as prescribedin the daily instructional plans.
